SAC Chairman in Shan State: PM meets MSME entrepreneurs, makes inspection

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing on Monday afternoon met with MSME entrepreneurs at the hall in Hopong Township.

The meeting began with reports on a series of matters including works for the development of MSME sector, exporting and selling agricultural products domestically and abroad, plans to produce value-added products, loans from the State Economic Promotion Fund for the development of MSMEs, loans to increase the coffee acreage and develop the coffee business, investment loans for plant expansions to improve cement production activities and electricity needs for manufacturing activities.

In his response, the Senior General stressed that to improve the country's economy, production activities based on agriculture needs to be carried out. Regarding the necessary raw materials, he urged concerned officials to make efforts to enable large production in Pa-O region and the attendees to make an all-round effort to produce electricity in the region. Priority is being given to investment loans for privately owned manufacturing enterprises. He also stressed the importance of education.

Enough products production in the country will be able to reduce imports from abroad. There is plenty of land in the region that can be used for successful agricultural activities and research on agriculture must be carried out. After the meeting, the Senior General viewed around the booths displaying the MSME products. On the same day, the Senior General visited the Hopong Yay HtwetGyi Resort, made inspection and gave necessary instructions on effluent retention conditions.

On the 28th of May, the Senior General paid homage to the SulamuniLawkaChantha and Shwe Phone Pwint pagodas in Taunggyi, donated cash, gave necessary instructions on maintenance and signed the guest books.
