Arrived back from Media Summit: Myanmar delegation led by MOI Union Minister arrived back

Myanmar delegation led by the Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn attended the 18th Asia Media Summit held in Denpasar city in Bali of Indonesia arrived back at Yangon by Singapore Airline in the morning on 27th May and was greeted by Yangon Region Advocate General U Htay Aung, responsible officials from the Ministry of Information and Myanmar Motion Picture Organization at Yangon International Airport.

The 18th Asia Media Summit was organized from 21st to 25th of May and formed under auspices of UNESCO, ITU, UNDA in 1977 with the aims improving the role of broadcasting media and performance, development of domestic and regional broadcasting media, safeguarding the cultural traditions and customs among the regional countries, adopting the criteria of skill and code of conduct, promotion and protection of public contribution broadcasting media, the social network media to involve and facilitate the sustainable development of the media sector and collective finding the solution by the professionals, officers, managers from the international Radio and broadcasting organizations.

At the meeting, the review on the year round activities-projects of AIBD, discussion on the media development works by the respective countries, the training to be conducted in coming year and projects were cordially discussed.

At the Asia Media Summit, together with the Union Minister, the attendants of information related ministers, deputy ministers, heads of broadcasting stations in and outside of Asia-Pacific Region, representatives from government and private broadcasting institutions, media professionals, decision-makers and the responsible persons from AIBD cordially discussed the cooperation with cutting edge technologies in broadcasting sector.

The 18th Asia Media Summit was co-organized by Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development -AIBD and Televisi Republic Indonesia (TVRI) from 21st to 25th of May and the Summit was attended by Myanmar delegation led by the Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn, Director General U Ye Naing, Deputy Director General U Zayyer, Deputy Director U Han Win Aung and member of Myanmar Press Council U Aya Chan.
