Measures for education sector: Meeting with district/township level departments and locals

Member of the State Administration Council U Yan Kyaw met district and township level departmental officials and locals in Hopang of “Wa” Self-Administered Division on Thursday.

At the event, the SAC member U Yan Kyaw said that in 2023-2024 school enrolment season, the Ministry of Education is distributing exercise books, pens, school uniforms and text books with free of charge not to have difficulty for the parents.

Free education system is being implemented for primary, middle and high school level students. He called for all to cooperate in accordance with the motto “Let's enroll quickly not to fall behind in the education for all school-aged children”.

Later, the Secretary of Wa” Self-Administered Division Administrative Body and the township education officer reported on salient points of administration, economy, social and regional development as well as efforts for education sector.

Afterwards, member of the SAC U Yan Kyaw presented 1 million kyats for education sector to the township education officer. He then visited Basic Education High School Branch (Shwe Wah) and High School (Hopang) and observed enrollment activities and met educational officials and coordinated the needs.

Later, he went to Hopang People’s Hospital and inspected the site for construction of oxygen plant and isolation ward and provided assistance to hospitalized patients. At the meeting hall of the hospital, the SAC member met the staffs from Health Department and coordinated the reports of officials.
