Rescue and rehabilitation tasks: SAC member DPM inspected rehabilitation tasks

The member of State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Transport and Communications Admiral Tin Aung San, Union Minister Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung and Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin met with the members of rehabilitation tasks, departmental officials, township elders at the Township General Administration Department in Pauktaw Township in the morning on May 24, discussed the rehabilitation work process and fulfilled requirements.

At the meeting, the in charge of Pauktaw Township rehabilitation tasks Bregadier General SanniOhn, departmental officials and township elder reported the implementations to restore normalcy of social, economic, education, health and communication sector, the work plans to be carried out the rehabilitation tasks and work requirements.

The Chief Minister U Htein Lin and the Union Minister Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung explained the rescue and rehabilitation tasks for the storm-hit areas are being addressed with the close supersivion of the union level, allocation of necessary emergency aids and relife items, public cooperation in the rehabilitation tasks and the works are being implemented with the vision of better condition at the post cyclone period.

Next, the Admiral Tin Aung San said that the senior military officers are sent to carry out the resue and rehabilitation tasks in storm-torn 18 townships, while the government is addressing the tasks for the people affected by the storm, the departments and the local residents should be participated in the effort.

The assistance and rehabilitation will be carried out prioritizing the lesser and larger losses and damages. The healthcare and the communication sectors are being implemented around the clock for the people and the aids and relief items are being distributed systematically. After the meeting, the Admiral Tin Aung San provided relief items and foodstuff to the responsible persons and viewed the free medical service of the specialists to the local people and cordially greeted the patients.

Next, the reconstruction of Pauktaw Basic Education High School and the students’ enrolment for the 2023-2024 academic year. Then, the presiding Sayadaw of Ba Wan monastery in Pauktaw was paid homage and offered rice, offertories and corrugated iron sheets. In the afternoon, the Admiral Tin Aung San, Lt-Gen TunTunNaung and Chief Minister U Htein Lin attended the cash donation ceremony for the storm-affected people held at the meeting hall of the state government.

At the ceremony, the well wishers donated the cash donation and the Admiral Tin Aung San, Lt-Gen TunTunAung and Chief Minister U Htein Lin accepted and returned the certificate of honor.  At the ceremony, 220.6 million Kyats of cash donation were received to use in the rescue and rehabilitation tasks.

In the evening, the coordination meeting regarding with the rehabilitation tasks for Rakhine State affected by Mocha cyclone led by the Chairman of National Natural Disaster Management Committee Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe was attended by Admiral Tin Aung San, Lt-Gen TunTunNaung, Lt-Gen Phone Myat, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin via online.
