School enrolment day : Shan State school enrolment day held with a ceremony

The ceremony for the school enrolment day for the 2023- 2024 academic year was held at the No 1 Basic Education High School in Taunggyi Township, Shan State (South), in the morning on 24th May.

Students from No 1Basic Education High School opened the ceremony by singing the song entitled ‘School Enrolment Day’ at Daw Khin Thein Hall.

At the ceremony, Member of State Administration Council Dr. Kyaw Tun gave an opening remark. In his remark, the SAC member said that the Ministry of Education is distributing copy books, pencils, school uniform and school text books in free of charge for the parents to enroll their children without any difficulties and the free education system for the primary, middle school and high school students is being implemented. In accordance with the guidance of the Chairman of State Administration Council, for the students who passed the Grade-9 to study the industrial, agricultural and livestock breeding skills, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Science and Technology are collaborating to open the courses attached to the 51 high schools in townships of 50 districts. The students who passed the Grade-9 have four different education options to choose high school level industrial, agricultural and livestock breeding skills.

Next, the Shan State Chief Minister said it’s a responsibility of the parents to send all school aged children to the school.

Then, the SAC member, Shan State Chief Minister, Deputy Commander of East Command, chief justice of state high court and state minister for social affairs provided free textbooks, copy books, school uniform, Grade-5 teaching aids and Grade-8 teaching aids and the responsible officials accepted.

Finally, students from No 7 Basic Education High School performed the “Zar Ti Marn” song and the SAC member,  State Chief Minister and officials viewed round the educational exhibition booths.
