Rehabilitations After Cyclone: Meeting with senior military officers for rehabilitation tasks

Member of the SAC Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications Admiral Tin Aung San met senior military officers who will supervise in rehabilitation tasks of respective townships due to damages in Rakhine State by the cyclone at the guesthouse of Rakhine State government on Friday and instructed the needs.

The meeting was attended by Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, the State Chief Minister U Htein Linn and senior Tatmadaw officers.

At the meeting, Admiral Tin Aung San urged them to prioritize cleaning up of the damages caused by the storm when they arrive at their assigned townships and stressed to supervise electricity supply, good communication, drinking water supply, renovation of basic education schools on time before school open season, repairing hospitals and monasteries and delivery of food, medicines and medical equipment and construction materials provided by the State to storm-hit people as quick as possible, supervision on correct data and if there are other urgent matters to report in a timely manner.

Later, Union Minister Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung and the State Chief Minister gave instructions to cooperate and coordinate with relevant district and township administrative bodies in rehabilitation and providing rations.

The senior military officers who will cooperate in rehabilitation tasks of respective townships are being transported to assigned townships by helicopters in the afternoon.
