




The Department of Agriculture held a certificate presenting ceremony for Good Agriculture Practices (GAP) at its meeting hall in Kantbalu district of Sagaing Region. The GAP certificates were presented to mango and dragon fruit growers from Kantbalu and Kyunhla townships.
Officer,Soe Aung,Department of Agriculture (Kantbalu District),said "Today, we issued GAP certificates to 22 growers with 1341.09 acres of mango and 7.63 acres of dragon fruit. Issuance of the GAP certificate provides benefits like food safety, supply chain for the producers and also consumers and to improve socio-economic life of the people."
GAP is the guide to follow the procedures of producing safety foods for the consumers in every supply chain from production to consumers.
According to the officer of the Department of Agriculture, there are over 3,000 acres of mango plantation in Kantbalu Township. GAP system is implemented to produce safe, healthy and nutritious foods for consumers.
