Power Supply: Efforts for re-distribution of electricity in Rakhine State

Union Minister for Electric Power U Thaung Han inspected repairing works for speedy distribution of electricity that has been damaged by Cyclone Mocha in Sittwe on Thursday. 104 staff from Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation arrived Sittwe by Mottama Army Vessel in the morning.

The Union Minister instructed them on the work plans and also inspected the arrival of generators and fuels. Moreover, 164 staff from Magwe, Bago (East/ West) and Ayeyawady Regions also arrived in Sittwe.

The Union Minister met with them and instructed for speedy implementation of the work and worksite safety. He also held a work coordination meeting the high ranking officials. They later inspected the repairing of power lines along May Yu Road.

He also inspected the arrangements of accommodation for the staff who have been assigned from Yangon, damages of staff housing and storages at Township Electric Engineering Office and power plant as well as the repairing works of damaged power lines.
