Donation for Storm-affected People: Officials & artists from MMPO make a donation in Sittwe

The officials and artists from the Myanmar Motion Picture Organization went to Sittwe Township of Rakhine State to make donation for cyclone-affected people and arrived back in Yangon on Wednesday evening.

Actor, Aung Khaing, said " We would like to say to those who want to donate for storm-affected people, they can join Myanmar Motion Picture Organization and we will transfer the donated items to them directly. "

Officials from the Myanmar Motion Picture Organization said they will collect cash assistance and donated items contributed by well-wishers to the locals in Rakhine State. 

Actress, May Thin Zar Oo, said 'We donate as much as we can and the organization is collecting clothes, cash, foodstuff and other essential things to donate storm-affected people in Rakhine State.

A very severe cyclonic storm Mocha crossed the Rakhine coastal areas near Sittwe on 14 May, causing damage and loss in the area, and 17 townships in Rakhine State were declared as natural disaster-affected areas.The government and donors across the country are making efforts to be able to restore cyclone-battered areas into normal condition as quick as possible.
