Seafarers Industry: MSF issuing ID cards through mobile application

Myanmar Seafarers Federation (MSF) has been issuing membership ID cards to members of the federation. This time, the membership ID cards are being issued through a mobile application with user name and password for the members instead of physical member ID cards.

Captain Soe Min Aung, Chairman, Myanmar Seafarers Federation, said " It’ll be more convenient to use this ID card than the physical member ID card. Adding the member ID with username and password to the mobile phone is more beneficial for seafarers – they can get special discount at shopping malls and stores which is connected with this application. Plans are underway to issue this ID Card to family members of the seafarers in the future."

In this application, the MSF members can add their soft copies of education certificates, COVID vaccination certificate and passport and CDC numbers.

Aung Kyaw Myint, Member, Myanmar Seafarers Federation, said " I came here to install the membership application on my phone. This system is very convenient for us. We can use the application even if the physical member ID card is lost or damaged."

Myanmar Seafarers Federation (MSF) members and their family members can contact the main office of the MSF to install the membership application on mobile phone and enter the member ID for free.
