European Council President receives Azerbaijani President and Armenian PM

European Council President Charles Michel receives the President of Azerbaijan IlhamAliyev and the Armenian Prime Minister NikolPashinyanin in Brussels for peace talks. Azerbaijani troops on Friday killed one Armenian soldier in border clashes between the arch foes on the second day of fighting which threatens to derail EU-led weekend peace talks.

The Caucasus neighbours are locked in a decades-long territorial dispute over Azerbaijan's Armenian-populated region of Nagorno-Karabakh, over which they have fought two wars.The EU-led diplomacy comes after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken brought the Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign ministers to Washington for talks in early May.
