







Chairman of the Disaster Management Committee Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win addressed the 2nd emergency meeting of the Committee on Sunday afternoon.
Before the meeting, at the Disaster Management Center in Nay Pyi Taw, the Vice Senior General heard report on the Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm ‘MOCHA’. And, at the meeting, the Vice Senior General said that the wind has calmed down and there has been some damage in Kyaukphyu, Thandwe and MannAung townships.
Bracing for the storm has been made since the 6th of May under the guidance of the Prime Minister. Departments must prepare for unexpected issues and assistance needed after the storm. The committee members must cooperate in the rehabilitation activities.
The meeting continued with matters including emergency response and discussions on the Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm ‘MOCHA’, readiness of search and rescue operations, arrangements to ensure that there is no interruption of communication with areas affected by the storm, rice, medicines and basic foodstuffs reserves, assistance from some countries and the AHA center, floods, landslides, arrangements for timely information delivery to the public, safe drinking water access, electrification and healthcare services. And, the Vice Senior General coordinated the discussions.
