To Attend 32nd SEA Games: Myanmar Sports Contingent leaves for Cambodia

Myanmar earned 3 more gold medals through Sepak takraw and Billiards sports events in 32nd SEA Games. On 10th of May, Chairman of Myanmar Olympic Committee, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan together with Myanmar Sports Association leader, director general of the Department of Sports and Physical Education U Tun Myint Oo is continously observing 32nd SEA Games competitions being hosted in Cambodia from 5th to 17th of May, 2023.

Held at Basketball Hall NSTC, Phnom Penh, in the Sepak takraw Men’s Hoop competiton, Myanmar squad picked gold medal while the Phillipines secured sliver and Cambodia clinched bronze respectively. Also in the sport evnt of Sepak takraw Women’s Hoop, Mynmar team grabbed gold medal playing against Cambodia and the Phillipines.

There, Chairman of Myanmar Olympic Committee, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan and officials awarded first, second and third prize winning teams. Next, Maung Muang (a) Bhone Myint Kyaw from Myanmar secured gold medal at the sport competiton of Billiards (Men’s 9Ball Poll Singles) competing against Singapore, Indonesia, Laos, the Phillipines, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Brunei. Likewise in the sports of Wushu, Sandi Oo and Aye Thitsar Myint from Myamar picked the sliver medal in competing aginst Cambodia, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia for Women’s event Duel(Tweilyan) while also Aye Thitsar Myint grabbed bronze for Women’s event NanChwam (Southern Chinese Barehand) competiting against Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia and Vietnam.

Next, May Thazin Htoo from Myanmar grabbed silver for Kun Khmer (Women’s 48 Kilo) competition while Hein Thu Aung clinched bronze for Men’s 54 Kilo event. for Badminton sport (Team by Team-Men/Women) event , Myanmar squad grabbed silver, while Myanmar women’s team clinched bronze for AZ Group Cricket Oval, Hun SEn Boulevard (Six A Side). Moreover, Myanmar football team beat team Phillipines 1-0 during Men’s tournament.

On 10th May, Mynmar team competed in Petanque, Wushu, Sepaktakraw, Badminton, Tennis, Billirards, Letwei, Kun Khmer, Volleyball, Football, Atheletics and Cricket and secured three gold, three silver and three bronze medals.

On 11th May, Myanmar is going to participate in the sports evnts of Whushu, E-Sports, Volleyball, Kun Khmer, Cricket, Sepaktaraw, Atheletics and Billirards. It is reported that, Mhyanmar won 14 golds, 11 silvers and 31 bronzes altoether 56 medals at 32nd SEA games till to date.
