







Under the section-6 of Natural Disaster Management by-laws, Disaster Management Centre-DMC was opened and started operation at the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement in Nay Pyi Taw on 8th May.
The clarification of work operation by Disaster Management Centre-DMC was held at the center with the attendance of the Vice Chair (1) of National Disaster Management Committee SAC member Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt. Gen. Soe Htut, Vice Chair (1) of NDMC Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Thet Thet Khine.
First, the Vice Chair (1) of National Disaster Management Committee Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister Lt. Gen. SoeHtut said the Disaster Management Centre-DMC was opened according to the guidance of the Chairman of NDMC at the meeting held on 6th May, 2023.
There are four phases to be carried out depending on the situation of the storm including normal period, emergency period, important period and rehabilitation period. For the time being, the tasks to be carried out during the normal period and emergency period are being implemented.
The data enumeration in accordance with the specified form to collect the statistics from the regions and states and those are to be submitted to the Chair and Vice Chair of the State Administration Council.
DMC is needed to be opened around the clock, the necessary arrangements should be carried out not to cutting of communication, the information is needed to collect not only from the regions and states but from the district, township and ward and village level.
The Deputy Prime Minister also gave necessary instructions for the preparations of natural disaster. Next, the Vice Chair (2) of NDMC Union Minister Dr. Thet Thet Khine clarified the the work operation of DMC. Next, the responsible officials from the work committee clarified the work operation of related sectors. Afterward, the Vice Chair (1) and (2) of National Disaster Management Committee coordinated requirements in responding to the clarifications.
