Bay of Bengal condition: Well Marked Low pressure area to intensify into a Depression

According to the observations at (12:30) P.M M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea still persists. It is likely intensified into a Depression during next (9) hrs and into a Cyclonic Storm over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Central Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea around 10th May, 2023.

The Cyclonic Storm is likely to move North-Northwestwards and reach to Eastcentral Bay of Bengal around 12th May, 2023 and then recurve North- Northeastwards and move to Bangladesh-Myanmar Coasts.

Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h from today noon to 11th May, 2023 and frequently squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (70-80) m.p.h from 12th to 14th May, 2023.
