




The opening ceremony of advance domestic sewing training (batch no-6) and the Mon traditional weaving training (batch no-22) was held at the Vocational Training Schools of Domestic Science for Women of the Department of Education and Training under the Ministry of Border Affairs in the morning on May 8 with the attendance of Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein and state ministers.
In his opening speech, the chief minister explained the objectives of the training including socio-economic development of the young women, creating job opportunity for women and running domestic private business etc.
Next, the chief minister cordially greeted the trainees and viewed the traditional handicrafts, traditional dresses, vocational items created by the trainees in the previous batches.
The training will be conducted for 22 weeks from May 8 to October 6 and attended by 35 trainees, it’s reported.
