3 pregnant women among migrants rescued by MSF

International humanitarian organization Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) rescued 300 people, including 52 women and girls, in international waters off Malta on Monday.

Three of the women onboard a wooden boat were pregnant, 77 of them were minors.All were transported by MSF's Geo Barents rescue ship toward the port of La Spezia. The rescue operation was supervised by Italian authorities.In 2023, more than 52,000 people arrived from North Africa, according to UNHCR data.615 people died during the journey.
