Amnesty Granted: Prisons released from respective prisons

2,153 prisoners have been granted amnesty according to the Section 401, Sub-Section (1) of the Criminal Code of Law on Wednesday. Among them included 14 from Kachin State, 101 from Kayah State, 9 from Kayin State, 47 from Sagaing Region, 49 from Taninthayi Region, 450 from Bago Region, 94 from Magwe Region, 911 from Mandalay Region, 26 from Mon State, 339 from Yangon Region, 65 from Shan State and 48 from Ayeyawady Region.

The released inmates were provided with travel allowance and meal cost. Before releasing, the officials from respective prisons gave admonishment to the prisoners. The family members of the inmates also welcomed them in front of the prison, and they were seen off at the railway station, jetty and bus terminal by the officials from respective Region and State Governments.
