Bilateral Relations: MoFA Union Minister meets Chinese delegation

At the invitation of Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, the Chinese delegation led by Mr. Qin Gang, a member of the Leading CPC Members Group of the State Council and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China., is paying a visit to Myanmar from the 2nd to the 4th of May.

During the visit, a bilateral meeting was held between the Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and the Chinese delegation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.

In the meeting, the Union Minister briefed the recent developments in Myanmar and both sides cordially exchanged views on matters pertaining to the further consolidation of the existing Pauk Phaw relations, acceleration of bilateral projects and implementation of projects under the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor (CMEC) and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the maintenance of peace and stability along the border between Myanmar and China and closer collaboration between the two countries in regional and international arenas especially in the frameworks of ASEAN, SCO and the United Nations as well as on regional and international matters of mutual interests.

Later the day, Union Minister U Than Swe hosted a dinner in honour of the visiting Chinese delegation at the Horizon Lake View Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.
