




To mark the Workers’ Day, the opening ceremonies of Thu Kha Su San and Kaung Zay Social Security Clinics were held in ShwePyiTha Township on Sunday morning. Union Minister for Labor Dr. Pwint San opened the ceremonies by cutting the ribbon and toured round the clinics.
The Social Security Board (SSB) under the Ministry of Labor has a portfolio of 34,878 registered companies covering 116 townships and over 1.2 million registered workers. Among them, Yangon Region has 13,988 registered companies and 863,533 registered workers, and they are being provided healthcare services and other benefits.
The SSB provides healthcare services at 3 workers’ hospitals, 96 township clinics, and 60 departmental clinics, 1 traditional medicine clinic, 12 contract clinics with Free for Service system in collaboration with private sector, 26 hospitals and clinics which is providing the outpatient service with Capitation Payment system, 9 maternity hospitals and 2 mobile medical vehicles.
In order to provide better healthcare services, SSB has been carrying out to open more contract hospitals and clinics, and healthcare services are being provided to the ensured workers at those facilities from 8 am to 6 pm daily.
