Academic Matters: New school opened in Minbu (Saku) Township

A new school building for the High School for Industries, Agriculture and Livestock Breeding in Minbu (Saku) Township was opened on 29th April. Chief Minister of Magwe Region U Tint Lwin attended the ceremony, and formally opened the new facility, together with the officials.

They later viewed round the new school building and instructed to provide further necessities. It was followed by a ceremony to handover the new shool building, with the speech by the Chief Minister. An official from the New KMG Co., Ltd, handed over the documents for the new school building to the Township Education Officer.

With the guidance of the State Administration Council, the High Schools for Industries, Agriculture and Livestock Breeding have been opened at 51 basic education high schools in 50 districts across the country. The move is for the students who competed Grade-9 level to pursue the vocation subjects.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and Technology jointly implemented the project. The students will be provided the Industries, Agriculture and Livestock Breeding subjects both theorectically and practically during 3 academic years.

Those completed the subjects with the set qualifications can continue their studies at the designated universities and colleges. They can also enjoy a lot of job opportunities.

In Magwe Region, these high schools will be opened at 4 basic education high schools in 4 districts starting 2023-2024 academic year.

The Chief Minister later met with the Education Staff and Principals of basic education schools in the Region, Districts and Townships, and discussed for academic matters for the coming academic year.
