Coordination meeting: Meeting to organize water pouring to Bodhi tree held

The Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein nan held coordination meeting with the state government ministers and departmental officials to organize ceremony of water pouring to Bodhi tree on the Buddha Day which falls on the full moon of Kasone in Myitkyina in accordance with the Myanmar cultural traditions and customs was held at the state government office in the afternoon on 28th April.

At the meeting, the Chief Minister pointed out that the tradition of pouring water to the Bodhi tree should not perceived as a religious festival but it is an exclusive tradition practicing only in Myanmar and it won’t be seen anywhere in the world. It’s homegrown culture, tradition and festival in way of Myanmar. So, it should be treasured, preserved and honored.

Next, the state minister for social affairs clarified the schedules and programs to be performed on the full moon day of Kasone which is the Buddha Day and the state ministers and departmental officials discussed the related sectors to organize the ceremony of water pouring to Bodhi tree on the Buddha Day successfully, in grand scale and thronged manner. Then, the Chief Minister coordinated requirements.

In the morning on 29th April, the Chief Minister encouraged the clearing works conducting with the cooperation of state minister for natural resources, state forest department and state environmental conservation near the “We Love Myitkyina” signboard.

Next, the Chief Minister and wife, state ministers and wives, state advocate general, state/district/township officials took part in leafleting campaign of COVID-19 awareness at the markets and on main roads of the city and distributed masks in free of charge.
