Healthcare Sector: Healthcare service Work Committee held meeting

Chairman of Natural Disaster Healthcare service Work Committee Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win attended the committee meeting (1/2023) held at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon on 28th April.

At the meeting, the Union Minister said Myanmar is prone to natural disasters such as flash flood, storm, landslide, earthquake, fire breaking and infectious diseases.

Recently, the fatal tornado hit the villages in Lewe Township in 21st April and left injuries and deaths. The Minister of Health has prepared the drill, medicines and medical equipments and vehicles for the mass causality.

During the aforesaid incidents, the transferring emergency patients to the hospital and the preventive measures to deter the follow-up health problems could be performed with the cooperation of the departments and organizations.

The Public Health Emergency Operations Center should be in stand-by to receive and distribute the disaster information in timely manner. The members of work committee members need to frankly discuss regarding with the implementation and cooperation in the relevant sector at this meeting.

Next, the committee secretary director general of public health department Dr. Myint Myint Than clarified the structure of healthcare service work committee, duties and functions of the work committee. The committee joint-secretary deputy director general of public health department Dr. Tun tin clarified the preparations of the ministry and future work process.

Next, the work committee members discussed the related implementation and cooperation. Then, the work committee chairman Union Minister gave speech of conclusion.
