Thanlyin Bridge-3: MoC Union Minister inspected construction works

The Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant accompanied by the officials from the departments inspected the status of construction works of Bago River Crossing Thanlyin Bridge-3 connected Thaketa and Thanlyin Townships of Yangon Region on 28th April.

First, the Union Minister and party arrived at the construction site of Bago River Crossing Thanlyin Bridge-3 in Thanlyin side and the responsible officials clarified the construction works of the bridge and the status of completing approaching road to the bridge and took the minister around the construction site and the Union Minister instructed necessary matters of the work.

Next, the Union Minister and party crossed the Bago River with mechanized boats and inspected climbing P11 which is Cable Stay Main Tower-1 and completion of installing Pier Head in P12 which is Main Tower-2, installation of P.C Box Girder in P16, P17, P18, P19 and P20 using Launching technology and instructed work requirements, safety of waterway and safety of worksite.

Next, at the briefing hall of worksite in Thaketa side, the Union Minister heard the clarified the data of bridge, benefits to be gained after the completion of the bridge, status of work completion, ongoing tasks and the work processes to be carried out with power point by the deputy director general of bridge department (admin) and the director supplemented necessary matters.

Upon the clarification, the Union Minister gave the necessary instructions.

After the completion of Bago River Crossing Thanlyin Bridge-3, the time of transportation between Yangon and Thanlyin will be shorter and the traffic congestion will be easing.

The construction of the bridge commenced in May 2019 and the overall completion of the construction has been at 76% and the completion of the bridge is targeted in 2024.
