Social Welfare Works: Assistance for victims in Salin & heat shelters in Magwe

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Thet Thet Khaing visited Magwe Region Office of the Disaster Management Department on 25th April. The officials reported on the arrival of rice bags to be provided to the strong wind victims in Salin Township. Those rice bags are the stockpiles of donations made by India Government.

The Union Minister instructed to provide assistance to the victims as soon as possible. She also stressed the needs to abide by the Standard Operating Procedure of storage and maintenance works and to systematically use the Inventory Management Software.

The Union Minister and party later visited the Heat Shelters being opened in the compound of Aye Ceti in Magyikan Village, and Eaisar Labamuni Pagoda in Magyichaung Ward. They provided cash assistance for foodstuff to be provided to the elders who come to take shelter in those facilities.
