Social welfare measure: MoSWRR Union Minister provided social pension

The ceremony of providing social pension to the elders aged 85 years and above in Magway Region for 2023-2024 fiscal year and supplying rice provision and cash for house construction materials for the storm-hit people in Salin Township was held at the meeting hall of Magway Region Government Office in the morning on 24th April with the attendance of Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Thet Thet Khine, Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin, region ministers, senior officials, region level departmental officials, district administers.

On the occasion, the Union Minister clarified the social welfare tasks, disaster management measures and rehabilitation works implementing by the Ministry, status of providing social pension for 18,180 elders aged 85 years and above in Magway Region, natural disaster preparedness to be implemented with the National Disaster Management Fund and status of providing assistances for the IDPs and people affected by terrorists attack.
Next, the union minister hander over 545.40 million Kyats to provide social pension to the elders aged 85 years and above in Magway Region for 2023-2024 fiscal year and 40.8 million Kyats for supplying house construction materials for the storm-hit people in Salin Township and 465 bags of rice to the region Chief Minister.

Then, the Chief Minister expressed words of thanks and clarified the status of implementing natural disaster management works, providing assistances to the people affected by terrorists attack and implementing regional stability and peace measures.

Afterward, the Union Minister Dr. Thet Thet Khine and officials visited Phan Gar Myay Home for the Aged in Magwe Township, paid respect to the elders, provided cash assistance for the elders through the responsible persons of the supervisory committee on the Home for the Aged, the elders said prayers and the Union Minister and officials said “Sadhu”.

The in-charge of the home for the aged took the union minister and party round the home to inspect the status of providing food and accommodation for the elder persons, the Union Minister comforted and greeted the elders and fulfilled requirements.

Next, the Union Minister and party visited Magwe Nursery center, heard the clarifications of the principal, gave necessary instructions and cordially greeted the children.

Later, the Union Minister and party met with the personnel from the department of social welfare and department of disaster management gave necessary instructions and clarified the reports of the personnel.
