Economic Development: Work Coordination Meeting of MIFER held in NPT

Aiming to review the work procedures of the departments under the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations and to systematically implement further policy, vision and mission, the work Coordination Meeting of the Ministry was held at the meeting hall of the ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on 24th April along with the attendance of Union Minister Dr. Kan Zaw.

In his opening speech, the union minister said that the ministry is established since 2018 by forming together Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA) and Department of Foreign Economic Relations, and this meeting is to discuss about projects and plans approved by the relevant commissions which are going to be conducted by the ministry for 2023-24 FY by reviewing the work processes in the previous fiscal years, plus allotted budget and financial matters, taxes, investments and the further work implementations of the ministry and the departments’ basic principles and policies.

It is also to discuss about ministry’s ongoing works to meet the standards of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and he said that the GDP will increase only if the improvements of the investments.

After that, Deputy Minister Dr. Wah Wah Maung discussed the implementation status of the previous fiscal year from the ministry and departments and the work processes to be carried out in the current fiscal year.

Then, the Director General of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration(DICA) discussed about the investment promotion activities at the headquarters and the relevant regions/states, the actions that will be undertaken for the improvement of the region’s economy and the meeting was concluded after the discussion by the officials from DICA.

The work coordination meeting was attended by Deputy Minister, Director Generals, Deputy Director Generals and Region/State Directors and responsible officials and the second day meeting will be continued on 25th April.
