



Myanmar Para goalball (Blind) Sports Association are trained to compete at the 12th ASEAN para games competition that to be hosted by Cambodia in June 2023 at the sports training center for disabled person.
2 coaches are training 10 athletes from the Goalball blind sport association.
Coach, Myanmar Para goalball (Blind) Sports Association, Ye Thiha said “The athletes are blind, they cannot play in noisy place. So, we train them in the early morning from 5.30 AM to 8 AM and from 5.30 PM to 7.30 PM in the evening. While they are playing, they have to wear eyeshades, knee and elbow pads, and groin protector. Three players play on each side. We are technically well preparing and training them. We give the training to the new athletes with four former athletes. Unfortunately, we didn’t get prize last year competition but this year we put a lot of efforts and learned lessons from last year’s mistakes.”
The athlete is ready for the competition and hope to get the prize, one of the athlete expressed his feeling upon competition.
Athlete, Zaw Ye Naing said "I have started playing since 2019. Firstly, we have been recruited for the competition in Philippines but we can’t go there due to various reasons. After that, we went to Indonesia, we tried our best there. Now we are under training for Cambodia Para Games. All the players are ready to compete and we hope to get prize at the competition."
The 12th ASEAN Para Games will be held from 3rdto 9thJune 2023 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
