Preparations for Buddha’s Day: Over 10,000 members of Sangha to be offered alms

Alms and offertories offering ceremony to 10,268 monks will be held at the four cardinal directions of the Mandalay Palace moat in Mandalay on the full moon Day of Kasone to mark the Buddha’s Day.

Buddha’s Day celebrated by Buddhists annually. In Myanmar this day is celebrated by communal pouring of water on sacred Bodhi Tree and holding donation ceremonies across the country.As Buddha Day celebration is one of the most important religious ceremonies of the Buddhists, the working committees will be formed to complete the preparations in timely manner to be able to hold the celebration successfully and peacefully.

On the full moon day of Kasone, at the per street of  66th streetin the East of Mandalay moat, 26th streetin the South, 80th street in the West and 12th street in the North, 2567 members of Sangha each will be offered offertories including alms-food.
