Comforting Individually: SAC Chairman inspected tornado-hit villages

Due to the hitting of tornado in Aung Myin Gone and Tadar-U villages of Lewe Township in the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area at 6:20 PM on April 21, 155 houses, one school, rural health center, a monastery in Aung Myin Gone Village and 77 houses and a monastery in Tadar-U village were destroyed and the tornado left 113 local people injured and 6 deaths.

The Tatmadawmen from local station, members of Myanmar Police Force, members of Fire Brigade, departmental officials and volunteers carried out emergency rescue works and conveyed the injured persons to the nearest hospitals to receive medical treatment.

The Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing accompanied by the Council Secretary Lt. Gen. Aung Lin Dwe, Union Ministers, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander In Chief, Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command and officials viewed and gave encouragement of emergency rescue works and tornado-hit victims in the morning on 22nd April. 

First, the Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister and party arrived at Aung Myin Gone Village of Lewe Township, met with the village administrator U Tin Aung and tornado-hit local residents and gave comforted words and provided cash assistance for the victims from Aung Myin Gone and Tadar-U Villages who passed away due to the tornado and the responsible persons accepted.

Next, the Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister instructed the officials concerned from the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, Nay Pyi Taw Council and Nay Pyi Taw Command to reconstruct the schools to be completed in time with the schedule of school opening period, to renovate the monastery for the better and to redevelop the housing plots systematically, to provide necessary assistances to reconstruct the homes for the accommodation and for the convenience of current food requirement and other necessities.

Later, the Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister and party inspected village school, monastery and houses destroyed by the tornado in Aung Myin Gone Village and instructed responsible officials to provide requirements.

Then, the Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister and party arrived at the 1000-bed Nay Pyi Taw General Hospital, cordially comforted the tornado-stricken people who are receiving medical treatment individually, provided foodstuffs and coordinated requirements.
