Electric power sector: Union Minister inspected repairing works of towers

Union Minister for Electric Power U Thaung Han, in the afternoon on 22ndAprl, inspected the repairing works of 3 electric towers 67, 68 and 69 connected 230 KV Belin-Ohn Taw  national grid passed near Tada-U Township of Mandalay Region which fell down due to the strong wind on 20th April.

First, the Union Minister heard the clarification of the director general of the department of power transmission and system control regarding with the falling down of electric towers, ongoing implementation of repairing works and works to be done to complete 100%.

The Union Minister inspected repairing worksite and instructed necessary matters. The 230 KV Belin-Ohn Taw national grid is transmitting 340 megawatts of electric power to the townships and villages in Sagaing and Magway Regions and Kachin and Chin States and the 3 towers of the power line fell down on 20 April, 2023.

Due to the falling of towers, the power outage occurred. To retransmit the power as quickly as possible, the repairing works are being carried out with the 250 electric power skilled workers from four offices under the project manager office and 3 offices under the in-charge of national grid, dividing three groups.
