

Those in Nay Pyi Taw have been participating in the Myanmar traditional Thingyan water festivities including the Walking Thingyan event.
On the 3rd of Thingyan festival, Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Thet Thet Khine, Deputy Minister and many other officials visited the ministry’s pavilion in the Walking Thingyan event. This pavilion also hosts a charity feast to revellers.
Thingyan is the Myanmar’s New Year Festival that usually occurs in middle of April. The dates of the festival are observed as public holidays throughout the country. This year, Thingyan falls from the 13th to the 16th of April. Thingyan or water throwing festival, which can catch the attraction of tourists, is one of the most popular festivals for Buddhists.
