







To welcome the Myanmar New Year, to preserve the cultural heritage from generation to generation and to wash away one's sins and bad luck of the previous year, people across the country have been celebrating the Myanmar Thingyan Festival happily and joyously. On Saturday in Nay Pyi Taw, people visited the Nay Pyi Taw Mayor’s Maha Thingyan Pavilion, Walking Thingyan and HlayKhwinTaung Beach. Thingyan is the Myanmar’s New Year Festival that usually occurs in middle of April. The dates of the festival are observed as public holidays throughout the country. This year, Thingyan falls from the 13th to the 16th of April. Thingyan or water throwing festival, which can catch the attraction of tourists, is one of the most popular festivals for Buddhists.
