Thingyan in Nay Pyi Taw: VSG visits water pandals in Nay Pyi Taw

Thingyan revellers joyously take part in the 1384 Myanmar traditional New Year Thingyan Festival on Akya Day on 14th April. At the water pandal of the families of Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy, Air) in Nay Pyi Taw Zeyathiri, famous artists, vocalists and Yein Dance Troupes entertained with songs and dances.

Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice Senior General Soe Win and wife and party enjoyed the entertainments and took part in the splashing of water.

In the evening, the Vice Senior General and party visited the pandals of Nay Pyi Taw Command, Nay Pyi Taw Mayor Maha Thingyan and the Ministry of Home Affairs and enjoyed the entertainments and water splashing. They also presented honorary gifts and cash awards to the artists and Yein Dance troupes.

Likewise, the revellers were crowded at the Walking Thingyan area and the pandals in the compound of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) Office. Yein Dance troupes, artists and vocalists performed with songs and dances, and the charity foods were served to the all comers.
