




Preparations are being made at Yangon General Hospital for the emergency cases during Thingyan by assigning more staff and providing medicines and medical supplies for 24 hours.
Also plans are underway more than usual in assigning the duty of staff, arranging and expanding of beds systematically and implementing to provide treatment through Mass Casualty Incidents (MCI) plan if the number of patients have been increased. Likewise, the hospital is arranging intensive care unit for the patients with other diseases during Thingyan.
Specialist, Dr.Cho Thazin Phoo, Emergency Department, YGH, said " The Government Hospitals plan to assign more staff, and provide medicine and medical supplies and beds systematically for 24 hours. So, patients can come any time to receive treatment and by undergoing medical treatment at the hospital, side effects and complications can be reduced. Due to the scorching heat outside, I would like to urge the people to stay under the shelters and to avoid drinking and smoking."
Likewise, the specialist doctors from the Yangon General Hospital gave advice on the health care tips for those who will participate in Thingyan Water Festival. During Thingyan, if the emergency case happened, they first need to carry out first aid method in cooperation with the members of Myanmar Red Cross Society, Auxiliary Fire Brigade and social welfare teams. They are also urged to receive treatment at nearby government hospitals on time.
