In the center of the Ivory Coast, the Baule people gathered in their villages and celebrate Easter or "Paquinou" on Sunday. Each year close to Easter, many communities in West Africa celebrate Paquinou, a time for communal celebration, with music, food, and dance playing a significant role in the festivities.

The Baule people celebrate also with traditional dances, Christian mass, and family reunions. The mix of African and Christian traditions during Easter is a way to bring together the community and the different groups and believes.
