

SpaceX launched a communications satellite and NASA's pollution tracking device into orbit early Friday in Florida. The Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Intelsat 40-e blasted off at 0430 GMT at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
The satellite will also operate the first space instrument for monitoring air pollutants from NASA.The Tropospheric Emissions: Monitoring of Pollution instrument, or TEMPO, monitors daytime pollution in North America and collects high-resolution and hourly data for ozone, nitrogen dioxide among others.According to the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, TEMPO will revolutionize air quality forecasts.
