Rural development: Poverty alleviation model project implemented

The rural development department under the Ministry of cooperatives and rural development is conducting activities to promote the socioeconomic and living status of the rural people.  

With Maekoung Langcung cooperation special fund 2022 - the farm protection road, gardening agriculture and handicraft development were providing and, market linkage and greenhouse agriculture were conducted at the Bagon Ywa Thit model village.

Iron melting business, Aye Win, said "I am interested in iron melting industry. In our country, that is rare doing. Foreign products come into our country gradually. Now it has been 100 workers. There are five kinds of items- steel structure and waddling equipment, constructions equipment and farming equipment and kitchen appliances, foreign export. We can produce 8 tonnes irons and iron melting per day with 100 workers."

Deputy Director General, Rural Development Dept, Nyo Nyo Win, said " Vegetables and crops products items are displayed here. We cultivate without connecting with markets. We will facilitate greenhouse cultivation next year. Currently, we started giving the course of greenhouse cultivation system. We cultivate sweet potatoes and lettuce here."

Farmer, Kyaw Thein, said " If the tree grow a little bit bigger, that will be good and can protect from heat. They provide to access water, to cultivate and I am very glad. We have many plans to expand here."

The implementation of the poverty alleviation model project in Ywa Thit Village is one of the 4 projects implemented by Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund. As a domestic industry, iron production is popular.
