Italian honours Pablo Picasso through land art

A land artist in northern Italy has carved out a portrait of Pablo Picasso on a field near Verona to mark the 50th anniversary of the artist’s death on April 8, 1973.

Dario Gambarin used a tractor, plow and rotary harrow to transform a 25,000 square-meter field into the image of the Spanish painter. Over the years, Gambarin has done portraits of Fidel Castro, Leonardo Da Vinci, Barack Obama, Pope Francis and Greta Thunberg.
