Thingyan Water Pandals: Thingyan festival preparing in Magway Region

In Magway region, the constructions of main water pandal and departmental pandals are being carried out to celebrate the Myanmar traditional Maha Thingyan Water Festival.

The Magway water festival pandals are being constructed near “We Love Magway” sign board and along the Ayeyawady river and all are about 60 percent completed, according to an official of Magway Region City Development Committee.

Htin Aung, Director, Magway Region CDC, said " The main pandal and other departmental pandals are being constructed at the Strand Toad. There will be a total of 6 pandals. And we are carrying out to get enough water from Ayeyawady river and other sources for each pandals. Also a total of 25 dance troupes included the city traditional dance troupes, departmental dance troupes and others will perform during the Thingyan festival."

Thingyan Water Festival is the biggest and most popular festival in Myanmar.  It is also known as the Myanmar Traditional New Year Festival and it is usually celebrated between 13th to 17th April annually.
