Prevention and Response: Meeting onConflict-Related Sexual Violence held

The National Level Committee on Prevention and Response to Conflict Related Sexual Violence held its meeting (2/2023) at the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement in Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon on 5th April with the presence of Chair of National Level Committee Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Thet thet Khine, Committee Vice Chairs and members.

In her opening remark, the Union Minister Dr. Thet Thet Khine said the meeting is held to discuss on the decisions made at the meeting of working committee on Prevention and Response to Conflict Related Sexual Violence held on 21st March, 2023.The fourth quarterly report of the National Level Work Plan was discussed and approved at work committee meeting (1/2023) and the necessary arrangements are being made to send to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to compile the remarks.

Among the decisions of work committee meeting (1/2023), the formation of Core Group consisting of 8 members from the members of National Level committee, the statuses of drafting six monthly report regarding with the work implementation of National Level Work Plan which will be extended period and the collective suggestions to be given by the national level committee members to be able to implement the Prevention and Response to Conflict Related Sexual Violence by the women committees formed in the Nay Pyi Taw Council, Regions and States.

Next, the national level committee secretary reported work undertakings on the decisions made at the previous meeting (1/2023) and the decisions of work committee meeting (1/2023).Then, the attendees discussed toform Core Group, implementation of national level work plan which will be extended period and to draft the report and the Union Minister gave a speech of conclusion.
