


With the aim of sustainability and preservation of the Myanmar Traditional Yein Dance, 1384 Maha Thingyan Water festival will be celebrated with 8 types of Yein dance competition at the Yangon Mayor’s Pavilion.
The application form can be registered at the Engineering Department of Yangon City Development Committee from 13thto 31st March. 44 teams among 71 teams who took out the applications, have already submitted for the competition.
Director, Engineering Department (YCDC), Kyaw Moe, said " We arranged 8 genres of Yein dances for the competiton.12-member Yein troupe competition for preschool, basic education schools, offices and other departments, 12-member Yein troupe competition (Men), 16-member Yein Troupe competition for the schools, offices and other departments, 20-memberyeintroupe competition and Ethnic traditional dance competition will be involved at the event. Starting from 7th of March, we informed the information about the applications for Yein Dance competitions in the Myanmar Alin newspaper and Mayor Newspaper.
It is targeted to award 1.2 million kyats to the first prize winner, 1.million kyats to second prize winner, 0.8 million kyats to third prize winner and 0.5 million kyats to the consolation prize winner.
