14th Myanmar Red Cross Society Conference: MoH Union Minister attends MRCS Conference

The 14th Myanmar Red Cross Society Conference was opened at the headquarters of MRCS in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

In his opening address, Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win said that in the conference, the Myanmar Red Cross council members and new executive committee will be elected and formed.

The Myanmar Red Cross Society has a long historical tradition and is an important image of the nation. It is an organization that has saved and helped the entire people with all their abilities regardless of the status of wealth or poverty in case of natural disasters and all kind of disasters.

In nominating executive members, it needs to be appointed to those who will be responsible and loyal for the interests of the state and the people, those who have qualifications that can contact with international organizations, who have experienced in red cross and social and philanthropic tasks and other qualifications in line with rules and regulations.

He called for the society to continue efforts to provide aids and assistance to the people in accordance with the basic "principles" of the Red Cross and to serve the duties for the benefits of the nation and the people while striving for long-term existence of the Society.

After that, the Chairman of Myanmar Red Cross Society gave a brief explanation on the social and philanthropic activities during the term of the society.

In the 2nd session of the Conference, the Chairman of Myanmar Red Cross Society acted as a chair and 67 elected delegates were approved as the members of the Society for the term of 2023-2024. Out of them, 11 executive members were elected in line with instructions and the new elected team took an oath. The 14th Myanmar Red Cross Society Conference will be held for two days from 30th to 31st March.
