Education Sector: SAC Chairman visits Sittwe University

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing arrived in Sittwe of Rakhine State to visit the Sittwe University on Thursday afternoon.

In the meeting with faculties of the University, Rector Dr. Khin Maung Zaw reported on matters including plans to launch doctoral courses as of the 2023-2024 academic year, number of tutors and students, number of classrooms and capacity and the need to expand teaching facilities and upgrade sports facilities.

Also, Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe made reports on the Sittwe University. In his response, the Senior General stressed that "University" is a place that shares knowledge and technology and guides people to improve morals.

There is a need for a lot of skilled human resources for development of the country. Due to the lack of education promotion, the state can be affected. He also urged attendees to teach students systematically to improve their thinking.

The university is also a place where students can gain experience for their lives. The Senior General also pledged to provide more dormitories and teaching buildings and to upgrade the sports facilities at the University.

After the meeting, the Senior General visited the View Point, met with locals and gave necessary instructions to make the View Point more clean and beautiful.
