

Sotheby's in New York is bringing to auction a 10.57-carat purplish-pink diamond that it says may break the sales record for such gemstones. Officially, they estimate the diamond, Eternal Pink, will sell for over $35 million in June. Alexander Eblen, Sotheby’s Jewelry New York said “We present to you today the Eternal Pink.
This is a 10.57 carat, fancy, vivid, purplish pink. And this diamond is internally flawless as graded by the GIA (Gemological Institute of America). Miners discovered the purplish-pink diamond in 2019 at the Damtshaa Diamond Mine in Botswana. Even though diamonds can now be created in labs, naturally occurring diamonds still sell for millions of dollars.
