Bar Council Meeting: Bar Council of the Supreme Court holds meeting

The Bar Council of the Supreme Court held its meeting 1/2023 at Bar Council office in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday. Union Minister for Legal Affairs and Union Attorney General as well as the Chairperson of the Bar Council Dr Thida Oo and the Council Members attended the meeting.

The meeting disucssed the remark of the Uion Supremer Court that according to Section 10 (1) of the Bar Council Act, appropriate action should be taken against advocates who violate the advocate's code of conduct or not and the remarks of individual council member on 123 senior lawyers who have applied to register as advocates.

The meeting also focused on applying for permission to register as advocates by senior lawyers who passed the Post Graduate Diploma in Law(P.G.D.L) conducted online by the Department of Law and the Post Graduate Diploma (DL), matters of the Legal organizations operating under the UN, attendance of 2 advocates in the basic course No. 1/2023 on signing business contracts and participation of 3 Bar Council members in the Money Laundering Risk-Based offsite monitoring and onsite inspections. Vice Chairman of the Council Judge of the Union Supreme Court U Myo Tint, advocates of the Bar Council and officials attended the meeting.
