Illegal Trade: Illegal goods and timber confiscated

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 25th and 27th of March, illegal frozen meat,consumer goods, various kinds of foodstuffs, electronic rice cookers and timber worth over 190 million Kyats were confiscated on the way from Tachilek to Mongton and on the Pyidaungsu highway road as well as at the Yepu permanent checkpoint and in Taungup, Thandwe, Pauktaw, Rathedaung and Maungdaw townships. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
