Trading Process: Operation at Myawady Trade Zone back to normalcy

Trading process between Myanmar and Thailand is back to normalcy starting the morning of March 26th. Director of Customs Department in Myawady Trade Zone U Chit Win said the cleaning tasks have been caried out at the places that were destroyed by the attack on the 25th.

The power lines were also reconnected and the export and import services are operating as usual. There are many entries of export cargo trucks but the import cargo truck cannot enter due to the situation at Asia Highway. But declarations have been made at MACCS system and will soon be arrived for vehicle monitoring.

Myawady Trade Zone is the major entry gate for trading between Myanmar and Thailand. It brings major taxation for the country. At present, the operation process at No.2 Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge and Myawady Trade Zone are carrying out as usual. On a daily basis, the zone handles about 300 import cargo trucks, about 200 export cargo trucks, around 200 cargo trucks for loading goods and about 60 cargo trucks that will transport to Yangon Thilawa Special Economic Zone.
