Messi honoured in Argentina as building bears name

Football legend Lionel Messi was honored by the Argentina Football Association on Saturday by naming their player's hotel in Ezeiza after him. The initiative was led by Argentina Football Association President Claudio Tapia. The ceremony and announcement took place at the unfinished building that will host all national team players when called for international matches.

Tapia, Messi and Coach Lionel Scaloni unveiled the bronze plaque which bore the player's full name, Lionel Andrés Messi. The World Champion's captain has been visiting the AFA's playing fields and facilities in Ezeiza since his first call-up in 2004 when he took part in one of Argentina's youth national teams.
