Floods hit Ecuador days after deadly earthquake

Survivors of the earthquake that struck Ecuador are now facing another natural disaster, as heavy rains caused floods in the disaster zone. Saturday's deadly tremor toppled homes and buildings from coastal areas to the highlands and left at least 14 people dead.

One of the coastal cities shaken by the quake was Puerto Bolivar. Meanwhile, several neighbourhoods of Santa Rosa in El Oro state were left flooded as rivers burst their banks. The country's National Institute of Meteorology has warned of more rainfall in the coastal region this weekend.
